  • Description

  • Notes

This distinctive, slow-growing, broadly pyramidal tree maintains a central leader and keeps its bottom branches. Its long, dark green needles are arranged in whorls up the stem and bunched at the ends of the branches to give an umbrella effect. The cones produced by this tree will ripen after 2 years of growth. In cultivation, the tree will attain a height of 20'-30' and a width of 10'-15'. Following 50 to 60 years, the tree will reach 35'.
Planting: 1. Dig a hole 1" less the depth and 2 times the width of the container. 2. Fill hole with water, let soak. 3. Set root ball in hole. 4. Fill hole halfway with native soil and water. 5. Finish back filling hole, build basin and water.
