Luma apiculata is an evergreen shrub or small tree. It grows fast to 6'-8' tall and equally wide. Old plants develop beautiful bark, the color of cinnamon. The foliage is dense, with closely set, dark green, oval to roundish, .5"-1" long leaves. Flowers are white to pinkish, a little more than .5" across, with four petals and a large brush of stamens in the center.
Planting: 1. Dig a hole 1" less the depth and 2 times the width of the container. 2. Fill hole with water, let soak. 3. Set root ball in hole. 4. Fill hole halfway with native soil and water. 5. Finish back filling hole, build basin and water.
